“Endless Knot” is an important symbol in both Jainism and Buddhism. It is an important cultural maker in places significantly influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. It is one of the eight auspicious items, and is symbolic of samsara’s endless cycle of suffering, through cycles of birth, death and rebirth. The goal of practice is liberation from the endless cycling.
