Dzogchen Practice Intensive (Crestone, CO)
With Tsoknyi Rinpoche
August 28 - September 4, 2021
The profound teachings of Dzogchen or the Great Perfection help us to directly discover our primordially pure nature and allow our confused concepts and emotions to be naturally liberated. This direct and non-conceptual knowing is intimately intertwined with bodhicitta, which is the altruistic intention to become a Buddha with the motivation to fully relieve the suffering of all sentient beings. In this retreat, Rinpoche will teach us how to generate authentic bodhicitta (awakening mind) and the precious awareness of our true and unchanging nature.
This is a silent retreat.
Registration dates for this retreat will be announced. Registration will close when the retreat is full.
Crestone 2019 retreats filled very quickly. If you wish to attend this 2021 retreat, please register as soon as possible after registration opens.
If you are a member in the Pundarika Membership Program, you are guaranteed a space in the retreat for one month after registration has been open.
Prerequisite: Having attended one open retreat with Tsoknyi Rinpoche, Mingyur Rinpoche or a connection Tulku Urgyen in which pointing out instructions were given. Attending the first Crestone retreat “Dreamlike Enlightenment,” August 20-27, 2021, satisfies this requirement.
Onsite check-in will be from 3:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. on August 28th in the Yeshe Rangsal tent foyer. You will be able to choose your seat in the tent immediately after check-in. Orientation begins in the Yeshe Rangsal tent at 4:30 p.m. followed by the first teaching by Tsoknyi Rinpoche at 5:15 p.m.
This retreat will be seven days in length with one approximately 2–2-½ hour teaching each day. There will be four group meditation sessions daily. A detailed schedule will be sent to retreatants several weeks before the retreat begins.
This retreat formally ends the evening of September 3rd. Departure day is September 4th.
To gain the greatest benefit from the teachings, Rinpoche has requested that students attend all the teaching sessions throughout the retreat. This also helps all of us to build a strong container as a sangha for this short time together.
All retreatants are responsible for finding lodging and providing for their meals. There is no camping available on the Yeshe Rangsal retreat land. Please view this link from 2019 to get an idea about lodging options. An updated 2021 list will be provided in the future: https://tsoknyirinpoche.org/retreats/housing-for-retreats-in-crestone/
There is a Rideshare board and Roomshare board at: https://tsoknyirinpoche.org/retreats/housing-ride-share/ We encourage ridesharing. Please consider offering rides to and from the retreat if you have room, as this will help all students to attend.
A limited number of scholarships are available for this retreat. Scholarship application dates will be announced in the future. Late applications cannot be accepted. Scholarships apply to the tuition portion of the program, not to accommodations. For more scholarship information, please visit: https://tsoknyirinpoche.org/retreats/scholarship-information/
