“Simply let experience take place very freely, so that your open heart is suffused with the tenderness of true compassion.”
~ TSOKNYI RINPOCHE
For over 30 years Tsoknyi Rinpoche has been teaching students worldwide about the innermost nature of mind in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Born into a family respected for its spiritual attainments, he was identified by the 16th Karmapa while still a small child as the third Tsoknyi Rinpoche. His teachers include some of the most renowned masters of Tibet. Widely recognized as an outstanding meditation teacher, he is the author of three books: Open Heart Open Mind, Carefree Dignity, and Fearless Simplicity. Tsoknyi Rinpoche teaches worldwide at more than 50 retreat centers for monks and nuns who follow his spiritual direction. His most current humanitarian project is completing a large school for impoverished young girls in Nepal with both Western and traditional buddhist educational curriculums. His personal warmth, humor and compassionate attention greatly enrich and enliven his teaching.

This online stream is for those students who have never received the pointing out instructions in person before. The pointing out instructions are an essential empowerment and teaching within the Dzogchen tradition, and can only be given by a master in person. The teachings in this retreat will proceed step-by-step through all of the introductory and subtle body practices that Rinpoche teaches in order to align oneself with the “healthy relative,” the state of calm abiding necessary to progress further on the path of meditation and liberation. While much of the material and practices will be familiar to those who have completed the Fully Being course or received teachings from Tsoknyi Rinpoche before, he is continually updating his methods and perspectives to present these teachings in the freshest light and context for the western student. This is an ideal starting point for those new to meditation practice or buddhism, or those coming from other contemplative traditions. It is also a fantastic refresher for those who have yet to fully master these profound practices.
There are no prerequisites for attending these teachings.
Each session will be live streamed from Garrison, NY. After the first day there are two sessions each day.
