What could benefit all sentient beings more than turning a multitude of female mini-Dali Lamas loose in the world? As students of Tsoknyi Rinpoche and of Tulku Urgyen we are grateful for this opportunity to support Rinpoche's vision for Tsoknyi Getchak Ling. We’re meeting with a lawyer soon to make it happen!

I’ve been to Tsoknyi Rinpoche's Gechak Ling Nunnery several times, and I’ve even met some of the nun’s families in the remote village of Samagaon, Rinpoche’s birthplace. The work that is happening here and the results are amazing. The education and training of the nuns shows Rinpoche's commitment and dedication to their spiritual development and becoming, what he calls, “mini Dalais Lamas”. Another big blessing for the World!

We have been students of Tsoknyi Rinpoche for 20 years. From the beginning we felt that his commitment to Buddhist spiritual development in female form resonated with our values. When he turned his attention to educating young girls from impoverished conditions, we wanted to help support his efforts in whatever way possible. We are grateful for the opportunity to plant seeds for the further development of Rinpoche’s projects as part of the legacy we leave behind.

I first started supporting the Tsoknyi Nuns during Rinpoche’s 2011 pilgrimage to Nepal, India, and Bhutan. When in Bodhgaya, Julie Green and Jean Chang appealed to the group to purchase a vehicle for the nuns at Chobar, who had a single small motorbike to serve all their transportation needs!

From that time, I became so inspired by Rinpoche’s vision not only for the nuns at Chobar but for all the nuns in his care, that I just kept supporting them over the years. Watching all of the nunneries grow and the nuns and their activities thrive and blossom has been a great joy. Knowing I’ve played a small part in this through giving and through rejoicing in all that’s been accomplished through the efforts of so many people, knowing that my connection with them will continue and increase, makes for a very sweet happiness indeed.

A trip to Nepal in 2017 included a visit to Chobar to tour Tsoknyi Gechak Ling campus and nunnery. An afternoon interacting with the lively girls, young women, and staff was highlight of my Nepal adventure!

Educating girls has always been important to me. Leaving a legacy gift to the Tsoknyi Humanitarian Foundation ( THF) is a significant way my contribution will continue long after my time in a body is over.

Lifting up women, lifts up our world!
