In 2026, Tsoknyi Rinpoche will be observing the Tibetan tradition of an “obstacle year”, which occurs periodically according to the Tibetan astrological calendar. During this year, lamas often try to minimize travel and stay closer to home to avoid potential difficulties and challenges. Despite not holding in-person retreats outside of Nepal, Rinpoche will continue to offer online teachings in 2026. After so many years of continuous travel and teaching around the world, this will also allow Rinpoche time for personal retreat and rest.
