His teachers include some of the most renowned masters of Tibet. Widely recognized as an outstanding meditation teacher, he is the author of three books: Open Heart Open Mind, Carefree Dignity, and Fearless Simplicity. Tsoknyi Rinpoche teaches worldwide at more than 50 retreat centers for monks and nuns who follow his spiritual direction. His most current humanitarian project is completing a large school for impoverished young girls in Nepal with both Western and traditional buddhist educational curriculums. An Online Event in the Deepening Q&A Format

August 18-23 (9:00 – 10:00 am MT)

“The Dharma is a method to overcome the delusion in our own stream of being, in our own mind—a way to be totally free…a way to realize the original wakefulness that is present in ourselves.”

— Tsoknyi Rinpoche

Freedom Within is a six-day online Q&A with Tsoknyi Rinpoche and the third program in this year’s Healing and Liberation teaching series. Exploring the practices of Fully Being and the wisdom of Dzogchen, this program offers practical guidance for discovering inner freedom.

A parable from the Lotus Sutra offers a glimpse into the heart of this teaching. In the text, a man spends years living in poverty, unaware that a priceless jewel has been sewn into the lining of his robe. Though he searches elsewhere for fulfillment, the treasure he seeks has been with him all along.

Like the man in the parable, we often search outside ourselves for a sense of freedom, unaware that it has been within us all along. Tsoknyi Rinpoche’s teachings provide a path for discovering this inner freedom.

The framework of Healing and Liberation brings together two complementary dimensions of Tsoknyi Rinpoche’s path for becoming a healthier human being and realizing the nature of mind.

Known for his warmth, humor, and the care he brings to his students’ questions, this Q&A format often evokes his most spontaneous and engaging exchanges.

With limited in-person teachings this year, this program provides an opportunity to continue engaging with Rinpoche’s wisdom.

Healing and Liberation – 2026 Online Teaching Series with Tsoknyi Rinpoche

In 2026, Pundarika Foundation is hosting a series of events focusing on Tsoknyi Rinpoche’s unique framework of Healing and Liberation—the two principal aspects of his approach. This event is the third in the series.

The healing path involves transforming distorted unhealthy subtle body and mental patterns into a healthy relative subtle body and mind. These principles and practices aim to foster, nurture and sustain a healthy human being and is a worthy goal in and of itself. For Tsoknyi Rinpoche, healing leads to groundedness, essence love and clarity. This can be cultivated through the series of practices in the Fully Being path.

The path of liberation takes that platform as its basis, and moves beyond just a healthy human being to liberation from the larger samsaric cycle of confusion and suffering. The path of liberation involves discovering and training in the nature of mind, and is connected to the ground, path and fruition of Dzogpachenpo, The Great Perfection.
