We are thrilled to announce that Tsoknyi Rinpoche will be teaching for 5-days at Tsoknyi Gechak Ling Nunnery in Chobar, Nepal, from March 3rd to 7th, 2025. In person attendance for this retreat is now completely FULL.
For those of you who are confirmed as registered to attend, here are some additional details regarding the daily schedule, as well as information on transportation and accommodations.
Losar Teaching Schedule (Nepal Time):
Transportation and Accommodations:
Taxis or rideshare services (e.g. Pathao, InDrive) are the easiest way to reach Tsoknyi Gechak Ling. A designated drop-off point will be located just outside the main gate. Please note that after entering the main gate, the walk to the teaching hall is uphill and may take 10 minutes or longer, so please plan to arrive early. You can find the nunnery’s location via this Google Maps link.
For those planning to walk to Tsoknyi Gechak Ling from outside Chobar, keep in mind that the nunnery sits atop a large hill, and the elevation gain can make the walk challenging. If this is your first time, allow extra time on day one to gauge how long the journey takes.
Accommodations will need to be arranged independently. Kathmandu offers many excellent options. If you’re looking for a recommendation, we suggest the Sanepa neighborhood, located just a 15-minute taxi ride away. You can explore it on Google maps here.
Please note: The drupchen at Tsoknyi Gechak Ling will take place during the Chinese New Year, which is one month earlier than Tibetan Losar in 2025.
